Calibrate a selected camera

Calibrate a selected camera

Evoke enables you to calibrate or re-calibrate a selected camera, without having to re-calibrate the whole system. This enables you to add a new camera to your system, or move a single calibrated camera, and calibrate with a shorter wand wave, saving the time it takes to perform a longer wand wave for all the cameras.

Note
You can calibrate only one selected camera at a time. This feature works for both optical and video cameras.

To calibrate a selected camera:

  1. With the moved or additional camera positioned in the volume, in the System tree, select the relevant camera, which is flagged as Uncalibrated ( ) if it is a new camera.
If you are not sure if any cameras need to be re-calibrated, look at the System Health Report (for information, see Understand the System Health Report).

  2. In the Camera Calibration panel, go to the Masking section and click Selected.
The camera masking is updated to include the new or moved camera.
  3. In the System tree, ensure the relevant camera is still selected.

  4. In the Wand Wave section:

    1. To ensure that only the wand wave for the selected camera is required to meet the Auto Stop Minimum Frames value, make sure Auto Stop is selected.
    2. Click Selected.

  5. In the volume, ensure that the person waving the wand does not stand too close to the new or moved camera, so that the wave can be captured by both the directly affected camera and the adjacent cameras.
During calibration, the selected camera is at the top of the Wand Count list until its wave is completed, when the list returns to the usual (device number) order.
Calibration takes noticeably less time than the original full system calibration.
When calibration is complete, in the System tree, the relevant camera is flagged as connected and calibrated, with no other icons ().
