Vantage system diagrams
Cameras are connected to the PC via a number of 26-port network switches, which also provide power to the camera as well as route data back. These switches can provide sufficient power for up to 12 Vantage cameras and two other devices (Vue or Bonita reference video or Lock unit).
Important
With the Vicon Advanced system, up to 8 Vue cameras are supported. For details and other PC configurations, see What are the latest PC specifications? on the Vicon website, or contact Vicon Support.
For mixed systems consisting of Vicon Vantage and MX T-Series cameras, see Vantage and legacy cameras system diagrams.
Except where noted, references to Vicon Lock, Lock units, and Lock apply to all current models of the Vicon Lock unit (at the time of publication, this includes Vicon Lock Studio and Vicon Lock Lab).

Vantage system with Lock
A medium-sized system showing how a Lock unit can be connected to a system that includes two switches
Vantage system with two Locks
A medium-sized system showing how two Lock units can be connected to a system that includes two switches
Note
If the system includes two Lock units, they must be connected via an additional PoE switch, shown in the following diagram by a Gigabit PoE+ switch with 10 GbE uplink.

Simple Vantage system with up to 11 Vantage cameras, a Lock and Vicon video camera
Vantage system with Lock(s) and/or more than one Vicon video camera
A system showing how reference video cameras can be connected to a system that includes one or more Lock units
Note
With the Vicon Advanced system, up to 8 Vue cameras can be supported.
Vantage system with three PoE+s
A larger-sized system showing the interconnection of three or more switches and other devices. Further 26-port PoE switches attach to spare 2.5 GBase-T PoE ports on the Gigabit PoE+ switch with 10 GbE uplink.
Note
As shown in the following diagram, when a Gigabit PoE+ switch with 10 GbE uplink is included in the system, a Lock unit is required.
With the Vicon Advanced system, up to 8 Vue cameras can be supported.
Vantage system with four or more PoE+s
A very large system showing the interconnection of four or more switches and four or more Vue video cameras. You can connect up to eight Vue video cameras to the Gigabit PoE+ switch.
To add a fifth PoE+ switch, use one of the spare 1G ports.
