New features in Capture.U 1.4.1
Important
To use the Capture.U app 1.4.1, ensure you are using Blue Trident sensor firmware 10 or later. If you need to upgrade, use Capture.U Desktop 1.3.1 or later.
The latest version of the Capture.U app provides the following new features:
For information on previous versions of the Capture.U app, see the relevant PDFs.
Capture rate options
To help optimize your capture session, you can now select the capture rate for the low-g accelerometer, gyroscope and high-g accelerometer.
This can help extend the battery life of your sensor within a given capture session and provide flexibility to save only the data you want.
For more information, see Capture to sensor in the Vicon Capture.U User Guide.
Ability to edit sensor names
To help organize your capture sessions and manage your data, you can now assign a name to each of your sensors.
Sensor names are visible:
- On the sensor configuration screen in the Capture.U app, to ensure proper placement
- In Capture.U Desktop, to ensure correct identification of sensors within a trial
- In CSV export files from Capture.U Desktop
Sensor names persist for each device and can be cleared within the app's system settings.
For more information, see Manage sensor names and Download a trial from the sensors, both in the Vicon Capture.U User Guide.
Protect your data in Visualize modes
In Real-Time Insight and AR Visualization, if you have captured data and have not had a chance to export your data, you will be reminded to do so before you start a new collection or try to navigate back to the home screen.
This helps to prevent accidental data loss through mis-clicks or user error.
For more information, see Use Real-Time Insight mode or Use AR Visualization mode, both in the Vicon Capture.U User Guide.
Hibernate sensors for longer battery life
To help preserve the life and health of the battery in the Blue Trident IMU, you can hibernate each sensor.
Hibernating a sensor places it into "ship" mode and helps to reduce the rate at which a battery discharges while idle. It also helps to prevent the battery from being left with 0% charge for extended periods of time.
For more information, see Hibernate sensors or Hibernate sensors from Capture.U Desktop, in the Vicon Capture.U User Guide
Euler angles output (Real-Time Insight and AR Visualization)
To mirror the angle format displayed in Real-Time Insight and AR Visualization, angles are now exported as EulerXYZ in addition to their current helical format.
For more information, see Use Real-Time Insight mode and Use AR Visualization mode in the Vicon Capture.U User Guide.
