Vicon Vanguard troubleshooting

IssueSymptomSolutionExplanation
Vicon Markerless system is not tracking

Camera images are dark

Ensure Video Calibration mode is NOT active.Video Calibration mode lowers the shutter duration for the cameras to clearly see the wand LEDs for a high quality calibration. After you have completed the calibration/set origin process, you must exit Video Calibration mode to produce video images for tracking.
Check that the light sync cables are plugged in.Each IR light is synchronized to the system using an RCA cable that connects the light to the Vicon Lock GPO ports.
Check that a GPO program been selected. The light trigger signal is controlled by the Vicon Lock GPO. See Set the brightness of the Vicon IR lights in Getting started with your Vicon Markerless system.
Check the status LED on the base of the IR lights, which are green when the lights are receiving power. If the status LED is not lit, the IR light is not receiving power. Check the cabling to the PoE switch and that power is reaching it.
Vanguard camera not calibrating

Wands are identified sporadically in the Vanguard Cameras view, calibration progress is slow

Check if a large portion of the sensor area is masked (shown in blue) in the Vanguard Cameras viewThe image is too bright for calibration. Decrease the Calibration Shutter Duration for that camera and re-mask so that only unwanted bright areas are masked.

Check that the wand active markers are consistently recognized as centroids (overlaid with a red circle with a crosshair) when in Video Calibration mode

The image may be too dark for calibration. Select Activate Video Calibration and place the wand so it is visible to the camera. Increase the Calibration Shutter Duration so that the wand active markers are recognized as centroids in the Cameras view.
