Vicon Vanguard Quick Start Guide
About Vicon Vanguard cameras
Vicon Vanguard cameras capture video in the infrared (IR) spectrum, to track the movement of performers in a Vicon Markerless system. Vicon Markerless frees you from suiting up, attaching markers, performing a Range of Motion (ROM) capture, or heavy post-processing.
The data is received and stored on a computer that hosts the Vicon Shogun Markerless application, which supports a video stream for markerless tracking of subjects.
You can use the data in real time or re-process offline.
Who is this guide for?
Vicon Vanguard cameras are for animation directors, game developers and technicians in animation studios, production facilities and virtual production environments and also VR developers and companies creating immersive VR experiences.
As Vicon Markerless systems require no expert knowledge (so you don't need to know where to position markers or guide subjects through a range of motion, etc), this guide assumes only that you have access to the necessary components (see Check the required hardware for your Markerless system) and a suitable site for system assembly and use. It guides you through setting up and configuring your Vicon Markerless system. For information on setting up and using Vicon Markerless software, see the Vicon Shogun Markerless documentation.
This guide covers brief information on following topics:
- Set up your Vicon Markerless system
- Configure your Vicon Vanguard system
- Vicon Vanguard troubleshooting
