New features in Live Link plugin 1.10

Vicon Datastream Source (Auto-Discover)

When you connect Unreal Engine to Vicon Shogun, you can choose from a list of available Vicon servers on the same network. This new feature is called Vicon Datastream Source (Auto-Discover) and you can find it under Add Source when you set up a new connection in Live Link.

You can still create a source manually, using the IP address and port number of the server.

Improvements in Live Link plugin 1.10

New skins and prop meshes

Several skins and meshes have been added to the plugin. These include:

  • Vicon skins

    • ViconActor

    • ViconActor_Skeleton

    • ViconActorFingers

    • RootEdit_ViconActor

    • RootEdit_ViconActorFingers

  • Prop meshes

    • Flashlight

    • Katana

    • Raygun

The Vicon skins use the material ViconActor_Material_Inst by default. This material instance enables you to change the primary and secondary colors of the skin. Use multiple material instances to have multiple different colors.

The RootEdit_ViconActor and RootEdit_ViconActorFingers skins come with a Root bone, these support the Unreal auto-retargeting tool to automatically retarget a Vicon skeleton to custom characters.

The prop meshes have their default materials set up to mirror the prop meshes in Shogun.

Issues addressed in Live Link plugin 1.10

  • The Vicon Live Link plugin is enabled by default in new projects.

  • When the Vicon Live Link plugin is enabled, it no longer blocks the default port (11111) for ARKit.
