Start Nexus Insight

Nexus Insight is a standalone program that is installed on a Windows PC.

You can start Nexus Insight in the following ways.

Start Nexus Insight from within Nexus

You can start Nexus Insight from within Nexus in either of these ways:

• On the Data Management tab, at the top right of the window, click the Nexus Insight button.

  Nexus Insight starts, using the folder that is currently selected in Nexus.

Or

• If you already have a report that was created in Nexus Insight, on the Data Management tab, navigate to the report's location and open the report (either double-click the report or right-click and select Open).

  Nexus Insight starts and opens the selected report.

Start Nexus Insight as a standalone app

To open Nexus Insight from the Windows desktop:

• On your Windows desktop, double-click the Nexus Insight shortcut:

Start Nexus Insight from Windows File Explorer

To open Nexus Insight from Windows File Explorer:

• In a folder that contains a Nexus Insight report, double-click a file with the extension .insight.
  Nexus Insight opens into the relevant report page.

The above procedure only works if the appropriate Windows file association has been set. This normally happens automatically when you install Nexus Insight. However, if Nexus Insight doesn’t open when you double-click a file with the .insight extension, you can set it manually as follows:

1. In Windows Settings, search for Default apps and then select Choose defaults by file type.

2. In the next panel, scroll to or search for the .insight extension. If Vicon Nexus Insight is not selected, click Choose a default.

3. In the Select a default app panel, select Vicon Nexus Insight and then click Set default.

   Open

   

   Vicon Nexus Insight is now the default file type for files with the .insight extension.
