Vicon Vanguard camera description

Vicon Vanguard camera hardware design consists of a camera body, a lens, and an optical filter, as shown in the following image.

For more information, see:

Vanguard Ethernet connection

The following image shows the camera connection on the top of a Vicon Vanguard camera for connecting to an Ethernet switch.

The following single connection point is on the top panel:

  • Gigabit Ethernet port
RJ45 socket. Held in the housing mechanism, a Vicon-supplied Cat 6 RJ45 Ethernet cable connects the Vicon Vanguard camera to an Ethernet switch. The cable carries power, all data communications and sync.

Vanguard mounting options

The back of the camera body contains one mounting point, which has a ¼" 20 UNC threaded hole. This is designed to match the common thread found on most tripod and wall mount fixing screws.

Ensure the camera is rigidly mounted by clamping it securely to a rail or mounting it on a tripod. For both options, you must attach the camera to a mounting head.

Warning
For safety and optimum performance, Vicon recommends that you use only stable tripods and wall mounts. For recommendations, contact your local Vicon office.
