Getting started with your Vicon Markerless system
About Vicon Markerless
Vicon Markerless frees you from suiting up, attaching markers, performing a Range of Motion (ROM) capture, or heavy post-processing.
In a Vicon Markerless system, the movement of performers is tracked by cameras that capture video in the infrared (IR) spectrum.
The data is received and stored on a computer that hosts the Vicon Shogun Markerless application, which supports a video stream for markerless tracking of subjects.
You can use the data in real time or re-process offline.
Who is this guide for?
Vicon Markerless systems are for animation directors, game developers and technicians in animation studios, production facilities and virtual production environments and also VR developers and companies creating immersive VR experiences.
As Vicon Markerless systems require no expert knowledge (so you don't need to know where to position markers or guide subjects through a range of motion, etc), this guide assumes only that you have access to the necessary components (see Check the required hardware) and a suitable site for system assembly and use. It provides a brief guide to the components required, and the steps for connecting together the hardware system and installing and using the necessary software.
The following topics areĀ covered:
- Check the required hardware
- Mount the markerless cameras and any optical cameras
- Mount the Vicon IR lights
- Connect your Vicon Markerless system
- Connect Vicon Markerless system components
- Configure the Markerless system network adapter
- Install and configure Vicon Shogun Markerless
- Set Vicon Markerless camera focus and aperture
- Set the brightness of the Vicon IR lights
- Calibrate the Vicon Markerless cameras
- Create and calibrate a subject in Shogun Markerless
- Create props in Vicon Markerless systems
- Clean up markerless data in Shogun Post
